We're making history here on Substack as writers at this pivotal point in history. We are first-gen AI users, for one. That's a lot in itself.

Otherwise, we are watching a world of humans trying to reconcile with rapid change. Also I realize we are real humans behind all of these still shot profile pics. I often think about all the complex lives behind the pics, behind the writing. I can envision you sneezing, taking out the trash, sitting at a stop light. Sometimes I get mad at people here but when I stop and grow up I know it's mostly me. Overall I don't think we're a lost generation of writers and artists. I don't know what we are, but we're not lost.
