Episode 1
Friday afternoon 4:30
Janice tells Mark about her new shoes. Where she got them and how she finally took the leap to get them. Mark nods with approval, arms crossed, looking down at her shoes.
'I can't wait for the weekend,' Mark says.
Janice nods in approval. She tells Mark she bought the shoes last weekend.
'Weekends are what make weekdays tolerable,' Mark says.
Janice agrees. I jump in.
'Mark, do you like Janice's shoes? Because you didn't say one word about her shoes.'
'She knows I like her shoes,' Mark says.
'How?' I ask. 'You just looked at them and nodded.'
Janice interjects. 'I know Mark likes my shoes by the way he looked at them.'
'What? How is that sufficient?' I say.
'It just is,' Janice says.
'How is 'it just is' a sufficient explanation? Can you both just acknowledge one another with declarative sentences so the exchange can be clearly articulated for all involved?'
Janice and Mark grow silent. I believe I have convinced them to be less ambiguous. I will add this to my observations log.

It's in the timing delay, duration, and scan pattern of said shoe gaze. Normies play by some weird-ass rules 😄
