My Car is Somewhere
When you misplace your phone people say did you try calling it. When you misplace your keys people say retrace your steps. When you misplace your glasses people ask when did you last see them.
When I left the grocery store and couldn't remember where I parked, I looked around only to see way more cars that were the same color as my car. I pushed the cart perpendicular to the aisles along the x axis while I scanned the y axis. Pushing and leaning on the cart with my elbows it rolled smoothly with a slight vibration in the plastic handle. Looking into the cart I watched the plastic window on the Ronzoni elbow macaroni vibrate to the same frequency. Of all the unusual last names, if someone's last name was macaroni, I wondered if they'd change it as an adult and how horrible early school life would have been. After I spotted my car i turned the cart. As I got closer I second-guessed until I saw the defining features of my car, the window sticker, 'no one is coming, it is up to us,' and the last three digits of my license plate 555.
A sense of pride in my tracking ability filled my dopamine receptor. I was proud of myself for finding my car. When I got to the door of my car I reached in my front right pocket for my keys, then my left. Then I looked through the window at the passenger seat and saw my glasses, phone, car keys. I pursed my lips and exhaled. Slowly, I pulled up on the door handle, when the car door opened I held my breath for the moment. Then I remembered I forgot to buy popcorn.

Well, this is just beauty. How else can I describe something that manages to fit together everything, the x and y axis, the musings over someone who had macaroni as their last name and still wouldn't change it, the dopamine boost in the brain, all items mentioned in the beginning perfectly collected in the end, and the forgotten popcorn?
I haven't realized my comment would be, essentially, one lengthy question. I'll leave it at that. I have a feeling this is the place where it's okay to do this.
